Yes! There really is a “Claudine!”
Back in 2010, Claudine Emerson, former owner of Milestones Quality Children’s Consignment, wanted to expand her business beyond children’s items. With the help of a panel of local business experts awarded through the Athena Powerlink program, Claudine decided that she really wanted to go back to her passion for quality secondhand furniture and home decor. After finding the perfect location on the northwest corner of West 8th Street and Pittsburgh Avenue, she opened Claudine’s Consignment in February 2011.
After almost 12 years, Claudine then turned over the consignment part of her business to Sherry DelleCurti, who rebranded the store as Presque Isle Consignment in 2023. She couldn’t give up her love of the secondhand business completely, however, so she now has a small corner of the store inside Presque Isle Consignment called Claudine’s Corner. In this space, she sources items that she finds on her own treasure hunts!
In addition to Claudine’s Corner, Claudine offers design services, such as Home Consultations, Home Refreshing, Hands-Off Reveals, Occupied Home Staging, and Furnished Rental Setup. As a REALTOR® with Joe Herbert Realty, she can even help you with buying or selling a property! With three short-term rentals of her own in Erie, PA, Bellefonte, PA, and Mayville, NY, she likes nothing better than sharing her insights about the short-term rental market.
Claudine prides herself on her support of local businesses and her involvement with the community. As the first business owner to be awarded two Athena Powerlink panels (2010, 2016), she has tried to give back to this program by serving as an adviser on panels for other businesses and by participating in Advanced Athena Powerlink. Claudine also loves to give presentations on entrepreneurship to local high school students. Through the local Career Street program, she has spoken at Villa, Fairview, Girard, North East, Seneca, and Strong Vincent.
